Black dragon contest (nearing the end)Contest
The ground beneath them quaked as a beast foreign to the world they knew clawed its way up from the fiery trench. They cried out in pain as a din so loud and so inhuman erupted from the beast. Smoke and fire bellowed up from the depths and blocked out the sun as it spread its tattered wings. Lighting and blue fire spewed from its mouth as it lowered its massive head at the mage that had summoned him.
"I have called upon your great power dark dragon. I alone have done what you asked." The mage screamed at the beast, and turned to the army before him. "You are now free to destroy my enemies."

I saw it a bit late but I hope I made the deadline in time. Hope you like my entry I had a lot of fun with it. Hope you enjoy the vid as well, I know some of it is a bit choppy PS and my software was being a butthole -_-.

I just want to say that his piece is absolutely fantastic!
First off, the lighting is fabulous. It gives a strong sense of power to landscape and both characters.
Second of all, the detail seriously strikes me. 5 hours of hard work were put into this, for sure (got that from the description of the speedpaint video)! I might never have this much patience; I'm always distracted by something else. I have a horribly short attention span.
Third (and finally- I also can't write uber long things), I must say the size comparison. The dragon looks enormous and greatly powerful!
